Advisory
A note with CVSS 6.6 for component BC-BW-ODP was released by SAP on 09.06.2026. The correction/advisory 3748819 was described with "3748819 - [CVE-2026-44754] Missing caller identification check-in for ODP Data Replication APIs" and affects the system type ABAP.
A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.
The vulnerability addressed is weak security function within ABAP.
Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. Since SAP uses an explicit authorization model, an authority checks must be coded in order to be executed. If an explicit check is not coded, all users have access. This type of vulnerability not only exists in SAP standard it also exists in customer coding. Check your custom developments for vulnerabilities that pose a risk to your systems. SecurityBridge helps detect code vulnerabilities before they are implemented in production.
Risk specification
The RFC modules of the Operational Data Provisioning Data Replication API (ODP-RFC) in SAP ABAP systems lack caller identification checks, allowing unauthorized applications to access the interface in a manner not aligned with its intended usage, resulting in unintended disclosure of replicated data.
Solution
Calls to the ODP-RFC interface are now validated against permitted subscriber type patterns, and requests from unpermitted applications are identified and rejected.
