Advisory
A note with CVSS 7.1 for component CA-JVA-JVA was released by SAP on 14.04.2026. The correction/advisory 3731908 was described with "3731908 - [CVE-2026-34256] Missing Authorization check in SAP ERP and SAP S/4 HANA (Private Cloud and On-Premise)" and affects the system type ABAP.
A workaround exists, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.
The vulnerability addressed is missing authorization check within ABAP.
Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. Since SAP uses an explicit authorization model, an authority checks must be coded in order to be executed. If an explicit check is not coded, all users have access. This type of vulnerability not only exists in SAP standard it also exists in customer coding. Check your custom developments for vulnerabilities that pose a risk to your systems. SecurityBridge helps detect code vulnerabilities before they are implemented in production.
Risk specification
SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA allow an authenticated attacker to overwrite any eight-character executable ABAP report without proper authorization, resulting in the affected report becoming unavailable when subsequently executed.
Solution
The program previously used for code generation has been deactivated, and a new correction program with proper authorization checks has been introduced, allowing authorized users to perform data corrections. Although an alternative solution exists, it is advisable to apply the correction! This is the workaround, which was suggested by the SAP security experts: "Assign an authorization group to programs RGJVCORG and RGJVCORX in transaction SE38: open the program, select Attributes, then Change, and use the value help to select an appropriate authorization group.".
