SAP takes the security of its vast product portfolio very seriously and thus releases security fixes for vulnerabilities reported by external researchers and their customers every second Tuesday of the month.

SAP Note 3703385 was released on 10.03.2026 and deals with "3703385 - [CVE-2026-27686] Missing Authorization check in SAP Business Warehouse (Service API)" within ABAP. We advice you to follow the instructions, to resolve missing authorization check with a medium potential for exploitation in component BC-BW.

According to SAP Security Advisory team a workaround does not exist. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. Since SAP uses an explicit authorization model, an authority checks must be coded in order to be executed. If an explicit check is not coded, all users have access. SAP Business Warehouse (Service API) allows an authenticated attacker to perform unauthorized actions via an affected RFC function module, potentially resulting in unauthorized configuration changes and denial of service.

Solution

An additional authorization check has been implemented to ensure that only authorized users can modify RFC destinations during the creation of dataload connections.
