SAP takes the security of its vast product portfolio very seriously and thus releases security fixes for vulnerabilities reported by external researchers and their customers every second Tuesday of the month.

SAP Note 3614067 was released on 09.09.2025 and deals with "[CVE-2025-42930] Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation" within ABAP. We advice you to follow the instructions, to resolve denial of service with a medium potential for exploitation in component EPM-BPC-NW-SQE.

According to SAP Security Advisory team a workaround does not exist. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

SAP Business Planning and Consolidation allows authenticated users to trigger a crafted function module loop, exhausting resources and causing system unavailability.

Solution

The issue is fixed by disabling the code segment vulnerable to user input manipulation.
