A note with CVSS 4.1 for component BI-RA-WBI-FE-HTM was released by SAP on 08.07.2025. The correction/advisory 3573199 was described with "[CVE-2025-31326] HTML Injection vulnerability in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (Web Intelligence)" and affects the system type BI/BO platform.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.

The vulnerability addressed is code injection within BI/BO platform.

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform allows an authenticated attacker to inject malicious HTML code into input fields of Web Intelligence reports, potentially enabling manipulation of application behavior, such as redirecting users to attacker-controlled domains.

Solution

The application now filters unauthorized URLs using an allowlist defined in the Central Management Console (CMC) to prevent injection and misuse.

SAP BI is a module meant for producing business insights and expands its power in combination with HANA DB and also exists as BW/4 HANA.
