SAP takes the security of its vast product portfolio very seriously and thus releases security fixes for vulnerabilities reported by external researchers and their customers every second Tuesday of the month.

SAP Note 3708457 was released on 10.03.2026 and deals with "3708457 - [CVE-2026-24311] Insecure Storage Protection vulnerability in SAP Customer Checkout 2.0" within SAP Customer Checkout. We advice you to follow the instructions, to resolve insecure storage of sensitive data with a medium potential for exploitation in component IS-SE-CCO.

According to SAP Security Advisory team a workaround does not exist. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.

Risk specification

SAP Customer Checkout allows an authenticated attacker to access and modify locally stored operational data protected only by reversible mechanisms, potentially resulting in unintended system behavior during startup.

Solution

SAP Customer Checkout now supports the use of the operating system credential store for secure handling of the root key.
