Advisory

A note with CVSS 6.1 for component SV-SMG-TWB-CBT was released by SAP on 10.02.2026. The correction/advisory 3688319 was described with "[CVE-2026-24328] Open Redirection vulnerability in Business Server Pages Application (TAF_APPLAUNCHER)" and affects the system type ABAP.

A workaround exists, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

The vulnerability addressed is open redirect within ABAP.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. Risk specification

SAP TAF_APPLAUNCHER allows an unauthenticated attacker to craft links that redirect victims to attacker-controlled sites, potentially misleading users into opening unsafe external content.

Solution

The application now displays a clear warning before redirecting to external URLs, ensuring that users are fully informed before navigating away from trusted pages.  Although an alternative solution exists, it is advisable to apply the correction! This is the workaround, which was suggested by the SAP security experts: "As a workaround you can deactivate the BSP TAF_APPLAUNCHER application if CBTA is not being used.".
