Advisory

A note with CVSS 5.0 for component BC-DB-SDB was released by SAP on 10.03.2026. The correction/advisory 3704740 was described with "3704740 - [CVE-2026-27688] Missing Authorization check in SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP" and affects the system type ABAP.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

The vulnerability addressed is missing authorization check within ABAP.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP allows an authenticated attacker to read Database Analyzer log files via a specific RFC function module, potentially resulting in limited unauthorized access to sensitive data.

Solution

An appropriate authorization check for read access has been implemented in the affected RFC function module.
