A note with CVSS 4.3 for component BC-FES-GXT was released by SAP on 13.05.2025. The correction/advisory 3574520 was described with "[CVE-2025-43005] Information Disclosure vulnerability in SAP GUI for Windows" and affects the system type SAP GUI / Frontend.
A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.
The vulnerability addressed is information disclosure within SAP GUI / Frontend.
Information disclosure is when an application fails to properly protect sensitive and confidential information from
parties that are not supposed to have access to the subject matter in normal circumstances.

SAP GUI for Windows is affected by a vulnerability in the GuiXT application, where insecure obfuscation algorithms are used to store user credentials. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this weakness, leading to a low impact on data confidentiality.Solution
GuiXT has been enhanced to use certificate-based password encryption for generic RFC users, significantly strengthening credential protection and mitigating the risk associated with insecure storage.
