SAP takes the security of its vast product portfolio very seriously and thus releases security fixes for vulnerabilities reported by external researchers and their customers every second Tuesday of the month.

SAP Note 3571096 was released on 13.05.2025 and deals with "[CVE-2025-43004] Security Misconfiguration Vulnerability in SAP Digital Manufacturing (Production Operator Dashboard)" within SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud. We advice you to follow the instructions, to resolve information disclosure with a medium potential for exploitation in component MFG-DM.

According to SAP Security Advisory team a workaround does not exist. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.

Risk specification

SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (Production Operator Dashboard) is affected by a security misconfiguration that allows an unauthenticated attacker to access customer data. While the exposed data is non-sensitive, the vulnerability enables unauthorized viewing of customer-related information.

Solution

The issue has been resolved through a new design that eliminates the need for customers to host the source code of custom POD plugins on an external SAP BTP tenant, thereby mitigating the risk of unauthorized data access.
