A note with CVSS 4.3 for component BC-SEC-VIR was released by SAP on 08.04.2025. The correction/advisory 3568778 was described with "[CVE-2025-27437] Missing Authorization check in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP (Virus Scan Interface)" and affects the system type ABAP.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process .

The vulnerability addressed is missing authorization check within ABAP.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. The Virus Scanner Interface of SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP allows an authenticated attacker to initiate a transaction without requiring additional authorization. This may enable access to non-sensitive data, although modification of the data is not possible.

Solution

The correction introduces a proper authorization check for the execution of program RSVSCANTEST.
